Getting started
1. What you need
An iPhone on iOS 26.1 or later, and a Jellyfin server with a music library. It can be your own server or one someone shares with you.
2. Sign in
Enter your server's address, such as https://music.example.com, with your username and password. Or use Quick Connect: start it in Wavetile and approve the code from Jellyfin on a device where you're already signed in.
Servers reachable from the internet need https. Plain http works only on your home network, so your password and token never cross the internet unencrypted.
3. Let the library sync
The first sync copies your library's details (not the music files) to your iPhone. After that, Home and search are instant and work offline. Pull down on Home to refresh.
4. Download for offline
Tap the download button on an album or playlist. Pick the quality in Settings → Downloads: MP3 256 kbps to save space, or Original for the file as it is on your server. Downloads continue in the background, with progress on the Lock Screen.
5. Turn on podcasts
Open Settings and turn on Show Podcasts. Search for shows or import your OPML file. More about podcasts
6. Add widgets
Touch and hold your Home Screen, tap Edit → Add Widget, and choose Wavetile for Now Playing or Recently Played.
